Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ To End After Season Three

November 18, 2019Skyler Shuler

Sadly, Hulu’s Marvel Television series Runaways is coming to an end after the series third season. The series will return on December 13 for its final season.

Runways becomes the latest Joseph Loeb developed Marvel Television series to come to an end. Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger was canceled in October after a two-season run at the Disney-owned cable network; FX’s Legion ended earlier this year and ABC’s Agents of SHIELD will end it long run next year. Meanwhile, previously announced straight-to-series live-action Ghost Rider series set to star Gabriel Luna was scrapped.

This cancellation also comes on the heels of Kevin Feige‘s placement as Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, over comics, television and film, and the news that Marvel Television’s head, Jeph Loeb is set to leave the company as a result, after almost ten years in the position.

Marvel’s Loeb-produced TV roster is now down to Hulu’s Helstrom and a slate of four animated series, as well as the previously announced final season of ABC’s Agents of SHIELD.

Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, and Allegra Acosta star as the runaways, while Angel Parker, Ryan Sands, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Brigid Brannagh, Kevin Weisman, Brittany Ishibashi, and James Yaegashi play the parents.

The series is executive produced by showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage along with Loeb and Quinton Peeples. Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski produces as well. Marvel’s Runaways is a co-production with ABC Signature Studios.

Here is the official synopsis for the series:

The Runaways have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile, PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.

Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 premieres December 13, only on Hulu. Check out the newest trailer below.
