While Rise of the Resistance continues to be the main attraction over at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, that leaves guests having an equally good time flying the Millenium Falcon on Smugglers Run. Now, thanks to our friends over at Fresh Baked, they have found a cool easter egg while on the attraction.
The easter egg known as Chewbacca works like this before the cast member makes their final checks both pilots must push their flight control sticks to the very far left or right and far up or down, then hit the flashing orange activation button. In the meantime, all Gunners and Engineers must hold one of the illuminated white buttons down, then press the flashing orange activation button. If done properly, your reward will be a secret Smugglers Run mission hosted by everyone’s favorite Wookie Chewbacca instead of the normally hosted Hondo Ohnaka from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Check out Ordinary Adventures’ video on the hack, their excitement has us all giddy to hurry to Batuu to try the hack ourselves.

There is some speculation that the programmers who worked on the project hid a ton of secret things by using different button pushes before taking off in the ride, and this is only the first mode that. we’ve learned about. I’m sure there are many other Easter eggs hidden in the attraction waiting to be unlocked. This isn’t an uncommon practice amongst video game developers when developing projects.
Chewbacca Mode works at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Smugglers Run locations. Back in August, TIME Magazine named the land one of their Greatest Places of 2019 to visit.
