Disney has found their leads for the studios long in development live-action adaptation of Peter Pan, titled Peter Pan & Wendy.

According to Variety, Ever Anderson (daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson) has been cast as Wendy, while newcomer and native New Zealand actor Alexander Molnoy has been cast as Peter.

The trade is also reporting that the the feature is being developed as a theatrical release despite being originally intended for the studios streaming service, Disney+ as we reported well over a year ago.

Peter Pan and Wendy will begin production this April in Vancouver, Canada and is expected to wrap in late-August.

David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is on board to direct with Toby Halbrooks, who co-wrote Pete’s Dragon, is on board wrote the most recent draft for the film. Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) will be producing the project alongside Joe Roth (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). Casting for other major roles is currently ongoing.

As of now, there is no official release date for Peter Pan & Wendy, but we hear the studio is aiming for a 2021 release. Anderson will be seen playing a young Natasha in Black Widow, this May, while Molnoy voices the lead character in the Disney Channel series Claude.
