‘Frozen 2’ Hitting Disney+ Three Months Early

With everything going on with the coronavirus in the world it looks Disney is rewarding Disney+ subscribers with Frozen 2 three months early. The record breaking sequel will debut on March 15.

Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek released a statement today regarding the move:

“Frozen 2 has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device,”

Additionally, Frozen 2 will debut in international markets including Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, March 17.

Frozen 2 was a critical hit and box office smash outgrossing the original film, making a record breaking $1.449 million at the worldwide box office. The film currently holds the title of highest grossing animated film of all time.

Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she’ll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.

Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the films original voice cast return with, Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), Along with new additions to the cast Evan Rachel Wood (Queen Iduna) and Sterling K. Brown (Lt. Mattias).
