Earlier today, the Walt Disney Company updated its theatrical release schedule, including Marvel Studios projects. One film that was not mentioned in the changes was Ant-Man 3. Well, a new report has surfaced, reassuring us that the film is indeed still in development.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios has tapped writer and producer of Cartoon Network’s popular animated series Rick and Morty, Jeff Loveness to pen the script for the currently untitled third film in the Ant-Man franchise. Loveness reportedly closed his deal before the Hollywood shutdown and has already started writing.

There have been previous rumors that the film could set up a Young Avenger film or series.

Jeff Loveness is no stranger to Marvel, as he has written comics for the company on characters such as Spider-Man, Groot and Nova. He has also written for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and episodes of the hit show Miracle Workers starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter franchise). His work was also featured during the Oscars and Emmy’s.
