Diego Luna will reprise as Cassian Andor and the series will take place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Additionally, Alan Tudyk (Ralph Breaks The Internet, Aladdin) will return as Andor’s droid sidekick K-2SO.

Stellan Skarsgård (Thor) and Kyle Stoller (Anna Karenina) will also be in the series.

According to THR, there is currently no word on a production start date but Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One will serve as the series’ new showrunner.

Gilroy will be directing the pilot and may direct the second episode. Much like The Mandalorian, the series wants a stable list of directors.

Here is a brief synopsis for the series that is being called a “spy-thriller.”:

“Follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.”
