Lucasfilm Reportedly Bringing Ezra to a Live-Action Disney+ Series

It is becoming clear that Disney and Lucasfilm are taking their live-action Disney+ Star Wars series’ seriously, and it looks like they will continue expanding upon characters introduced us from Dave Filoni via The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels with characters such as Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), and Sabine Wren (Sasha Banks *rumored*) making appearances in the highly-anticipated second season of The Mandalorian.

According to a new report from The Illuminerdi, they claim that Lucasfilm is currently casting for the role of Ezra Bridger for a currently unknown Star Wars series for the streamer, the site does clarify that The Mandalorian is not one of the options. Based on the casting description obtained by the site, the studio is looking for a male actor between the ages of 30 and 40 years old. Lucasfilm is also specifically looking for actors of Asian descent but is open to seeing auditions from Indian, Latino, or Middle Eastern actors.

For now, this news hasn’t been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm; however, I know the site pretty well and if they’ve obtained a casting description it’s usually legit, so it is a matter of time before we start hearing names of actors in the mix for the role.

For those unfamiliar with the character Ezra Bridger, he was introduced to us in 2014 on DisneyXD Star Wars Rebels, created by the aforementioned Dave Filoni. Ezra was a young Force-sensitive human street urchin living on the streets of the Imperial-controlled planet Lothal’s Capital City trying to survive by crime until he was taken in by Kanan Jarrus, becoming his Jedi apprentice and a part of the Ghost crew’s Rebellion against the Empire.

Season two of The Mandalorian is set to debut on Disney+ this October, with a third season already in development. The streamer is also working on a Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan series. There are rumors floating the internet that Ahsoka Tano is also getting her own series following her introduction in The Mandalorian. An Ahsoka Tano series would make perfect sense for Ezra’s appearance.

I want so much to see in a series what Ahsoka Tano and Rex did after the events of The Clone Wars Victory and death: how Gregor and Wolffe had their chips removed, present in their heads used to trigger Order 66, and how they ended up with Rex on Seelos aboard an AT-TE; when and how Ahsoka met Bail Organa and Hera Syndulla; what Ahsoka did with his other lightsaber; how Ahsoka got his new white lightsabers; what Barriss Offee has become: if she saw Ahsoka again and after having reconciled, sacrificed herself to save her life; Maul fighting Darth Vader; how Maul got his new lightsaber; if Ahsoka saw Riyo Chuchi, Lux Bonteri, Trace and Rafa Martez, Saw Gerrera, Ursa Wren, Bo-Katan Kryze, Korkie Kryze, and Mace Windu if he survived.
I so hope that Ahsoka Tano will appear in season 2 of The Mandalorian with Sabine Wren.
If they make a series on Ahsoka Tano, I hope so much that the story of this character will start when she leaves the Jedi order, and that it is shown what she became until the events of The Clone Wars Gone With A Trace: if after leaving the Jedi order, she has reviewed Asajj Ventress and teamed up with her for a mission; but also Barriss Offee and talking with her after discovering her betrayal, in order to reason with her and eventually come to terms.
I would like to see in a series what Ahsoka did after being saved by Ezra Brider in Star Wars Rebels “A World Between Worlds” until she finds Sabine Wren to go to the research by Ezra Bridger “Family Reunion and Farewell Part II”.
I look forward to seeing Ahsoka with Sabine on their quest to find Ezra Bridger.
I so want to see Ahsoka meet Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, the ghosts of the Force of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda.
I want to see Mace Windu so badly in an episode of a TV series following Star Wars III revenge of the Sith after he survived his fall (and it is shown how the jedi master survived his fall after being sent out the window by Darth Sidious), like Luke Skywalker, after Darth Vader cut off his right hand in Star Wars V The Empire Strikes Back. I would especially like to see Mace Windu see Ahsoka Tano again after Order 66.
I wish Ahsoka Tano would become a Jedi again after Luke Skywalker’s founding of the new Jedi order, as that would mean that her pain when she left the Jedi order during the Clone Wars is well healed. Indeed when she left the Jedi order, she was very upset because she had lost confidence in the Jedi who had not believed in her innocence (with the exception of her master Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi) even after they admitted their wrong and offered to reinstate her.
I would love to see Ahsoka with Rex come back to this moon near the graves of the clone soldiers with other characters like Luke, Leia, Han, Lando and Chewie.
I want so much to see Ahsoka Tano seeing Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine or before his exile on Tatooine after Order 66.
