Hulu has given our season renewals for their hit animated series’ Solar Opposites and Crossing Swords. The Disney owned streamer is continuing to build its adult animated slate.
Solar Opposites, from Rick and Morty creators Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan and produced by Disney’s 20th Century Fox Television, was renewed for a third season. The series is Hulu’s most watched original comedy to date. The series follows a family of aliens move to middle America, where they debate whether life is better there or on their home planet. The comedy features the voices of Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone and Mary Mack.
Crossing Swords, is Hulu’s newest animated comedy and received a 10-episode second season renewal. From creators Tom Root and John Harvatine IV, the series is a good-hearted peasant dreaming of knighthood becomes a squire at the royal castle. But his dream job isn’t everything he’d hoped it would be. The fantasy-comedy features an all-star voice cast such as Nicholas Hoult, Adam Ray, Tara Strong, Tony Hale, Luke Evans, Seth Green, Alanna Ubach, Adam Pally, Yvette Nicole Brown, Maya Erskine, Breckin Meyer and Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Hulu is the home to the largest streaming television library of adult animation, with acquired series including Family Guy, American Dad, Rick and Morty and Bob’s Burgers is among the platform’s most watched programming. Adult animation is a high-driver of engagement on Hulu and has the highest average rewatch rate on the service.
