Deadline just broke today that Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim, 6 Underground) has joined Diego Luna in his Cassian Andor Disney+ series. She is set to star opposite of Luna in the lead-female role.

Details on her character are unknown.

Details on the series – which is in pre-production, are being kept under wraps; however we do know the series is being aimed as a “spy-thriller.” Take a look at the synopsis below:

“Follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.”

Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will serve as the series’ new showrunner, taking over the position from The Americans executive producer Stephen Schiff. Gilroy will also direct the first episode with other notable directors rotating, similar to The Mandalorian.

Production on the project was intended to start next month in London and last through December, but that was until everything came to a halt due to the coronavirus outbreak. It is currently unknown if the project will hit that June production start date, though the British government has allowed filming to resume on projects, as long as they follow specific safety measures. If the series can finish production by December like originally intended, then we’d expect the series to debut on Disney+ sometime in the Fall of 2021.
