RUMOR: Lucasfilm Finds Its Live Action Ezra Bridger And Thrawn

Ever since Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano uttered Thrawn’s name in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, the live action appearance of the villainous Grand Admiral has been imminent. Additionally, possible casting for the character has also been a subject of strong speculation.

Now, according to the site LRM Online, it appears that both Thrawn and another popular animated canonical Star Wars characters might have actually been cast to appear in several upcoming series already.

While they don’t directly explain where their knowledge confirms from (possibly sources close to the studio and/or ongoing productions), the site confidently claims that both Thrawn and Ezra Bridger will be played by Lars Mikkelsen and Mena Massoud respectively.

Interestingly enough, Mikkelson previously voiced Thrawn on Star Wars: Rebels. Similar to Katee Sackhoff seems to have been tapped to continue playing the character as a live action incarnation. Sackhoff famously reprised her role as Bo-Katan in the last season of The Mandalorian. As the last name suggests, Mikkelson is the brother of world renowned actor Mads Mikkelson who is no stranger to Disney at all, having previously appeared in Doctor Strange and Rogue One.

Massoud is also no stranger to Disney breaking onto the scene as the titular lead of the live aciton adaptation of Aladdin. This actually isn’t the first time he’s been linked to the character. Just a few months ago he posted a photo on Instagram captioned with a quote Bridger says in Star Wars: Rebels. You can check it out below.

Now, as always, because this isn’t an official report we urge everyone to take this news with a grain of salt. Should we get any more information about this story or casting on future Star Wars projects, we’ll keep you updated.
