While most Quentin Tarantino fans are still eagerly awaiting for him to announce his tenth and final film , the Academy-Award winning auteur seems to be taking a bit of a detour and bringing his directing talents to the small screen.
According to Deadline, Tarantino is in “early talks” to helm either one or two episodes of the upcoming Justified revival over at FX titled Justified: City of Primeval.
Ordered last month, the new limited series is a continuation of the Elmore Leonard novels the original series was based on. More specifically, it’s based on the novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.”
Timothy Olyphant will return to reprise the lead role of Raylan Givens.
The official logline for the series states that the story will pick up eight years the show’s finale. Givens now lives in Miami, and is a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl.
Should the talks succeed, this won’t be Tarantino’s first collaboration with Olyphant. The actor previously starred in the director’s last film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
As Variety points out, this won’t be Tarantino’s first time adapting one of Leonard’s works either, as Jackie Brown was adapted from the author’s novel “Rum Punch.”
