The British entertainment company, Secret Cinema, has announced their next live interactive experience following Bridgerton, and it’s none other than Guardians of the Galaxy!
Secret Cinema is one of the most famous cinema experiences in England where guests not only watch the movie but experience the movie. Having attended three Secret Cinema events (“The Empire Strikes Back”, “28 Days Later”, and “Stranger Things”), I can safely say that each was amazing, particularly The Empire Strikes Back.
As with previous experiences, guests will have free reign to explore the specially made sets within the film universe before settling down to watch the movie at the end of the night. Typically, the interactive events take place before the film; for example, The Empire Strikes Back experience had guests live through the story of A New Hope with actors recreating scenes before guests sat down to watch Empire.
In the 28 Days Later experience, fans experienced the zombie outbreak before becoming “infected” and watching the film.
Stranger Things was a little different. Since it’s a television series, guests didn’t sit down to watch the entire show, but they experienced highlights from the second season before watching a thirty-minute finale in which they observed and assisted the Stranger Things kids in taking down the Demigorgan.
While not much is known about Guardians of the Galaxy: The Live Experience, the official website states: “We Ravagers are looking for new recruits. We’ve got the score of a lifetime coming up and we’re looking for smugglers, outlaws, thieves – ya’ know the type. Interstellar raids, wreaking havoc and good times. Only downside, might have to link up with Quill and those pals of his.”
The event will take place between the events of the first two Guardians movies, with guests having the option to watch Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 at the end of the night.
The event will take place at a secret indoor location in London, England (which will be revealed to ticket purchases a few days before their trip). The event will be restricted to those ages 18+, but certain matinee experiences will allow those 12+.
The event will take place in August with tickets ranging between £47-£195.
