According to Deadline, former Jane the Virgin star is headed back to the small screen in ABC’s new single-camera comedy pilot Not Dead Yet.

The series hails from Casey Johnson and David Windsor, who previously created ABC’s The Real O’Neals, as well as McG (The Babysitter) and 20th Television. Johnson and Windsor are also working on the pilot script.

Based on the novel Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up, by Alexandra Potter, the series revolves around a broke, newly single woman who attempts to restart her career as a journalist by taking a job writing obituaries. At first, the opportunity seems like a step backwards, but it eventually turns out it’s what she needs to move forward in her life.

Although this is Rodriguez’s first major role in a TV series since Jane the Virgin ended a few years ago, she’s lent her voice to various other shows recently. In addition to narrating (the now-canceled) Diary of a Future President on Disney+, she also starred as the titular woman of mystery in Netflix’s Carmen Sandiego. She is also a part of the ensemble on Netflix’s hit animated series Big Mouth.

Rodriguez’s last feature length project was Amazon’s I Want You Back, which hit the streamer in February.

Expect more casting announcements soon.
