Orlando-based Theme Park Reporter Ashley Carter breaks down the changes at Walt Disney World
Hello everyone!
I am writing this afternoon wanting to provide some information about traveling to the Disney Parks. While there are many, many resources to turn to when planning a Disney vacation (including my friends at MickeyTravels, my wife is an agent, email her) some of the best can be utilized when you are not able to read or scroll.
For my money, Disney podcasts are PERFECT for the busy person who wants to begin planning or continue to refine their upcoming vacation. For those of you who’ve been burying your head ostrich-style, it’s important to note that there are PLENTY of changes to the Disney Parks since pre-pandemic times.

Some of those changes can be quite confusing or daunting, and that’s where our talkative friends come in.
So, here are this week’s pics for Disney Parks podcasts (and one streamer) that can both hype up and ground your approach to your next trip.
New Podcast from a Trusted Source
Now you’ll notice I am not listing EVERY podcast out there. These are tried-and-true shows that I’ve engaged with for some time – with the exception of one. But it’s a new show from a long-time follow on Twitter and one of my most trusted theme park journalists.
Ashley Carter is a stalwart on the scene and is the person I turn to first to learn the truth behind a breaking Walt Disney World story. SO, with the fanboying done, I want to point out Carter’s brand new podcast, Attractions Insider; the first episode of which broke down some of the most important changes to the Walt Disney World experience:
Disney News & History
Jim Hill and Len Testa take a really long view of the Disney Parks and the Walt Disney Company, in general. Perhaps the most prolific media and theme park journalist (of all time?) Mr. Hill is an amazing resource for fans and travelers, alike. His partner Len Testa is THE mind behind The Unofficial Guides to Disney, Universal, etc. He’s also the guy behind Touring Plans – a technology-based way to plan your Disney (and other Theme Park) vacations. This week, on the Disney Dish Podcast, Jim and Len spoke about the current state of Walt Disney World and the history of The Walt Disney Company in Florida:
Sit Back… Relax
Lou Mongello has been on the Disney scene since 2003 and streaming since 2007. Mongello is a media mogul in his own right and has built his own business around knowing and enjoying Disney as much as possible. As such, Lou can sit back, relax, and take a deep dive into one piece of the Disney puzzle. This week, on WDW Radio, Lou and guests talk about the Top-10 smells at Walt Disney World. And while the first two, “post-rain smell” and “Rome burning” aren’t my personal fav (that would be Pirates of the Caribbean smell), it’s always fun to listen to folks who are as into the Disney Park experience as I am:
Cure the Monday Blues
Okay, so when you get to work on Monday, and you need some Disney sights and sounds to get you through the day (if not inspire you to start planning for WDW), I want you to meet a friend of mine, Nick at MagicalNewsLive. Nick documents his walks around Walt Disney World as often as possible, and a familiar group of friends and fans make his broadcasts a real family-friendly affair. Along the way, Nick — who is also a Castmember — relays a lot of information about the Disney World experience. Become a Newsie, today:
Depending on the response to this story, I will continue to highlight some of the best and brightest of the Disney podcasts and vlogs. So, let me know what you think in the comments.
