Last week, James Gunn confirmed that filming for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was complete. However, he still has to finish filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
While little is known about both projects, recent set photos have given us a good idea about what to expect. For example, Kevin Bacon was reportedly spotted on set and is believed to play some sort of role in either the Holiday Special or Vol. 3.
Sitings of Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff’s Drax and Mantis in Hollywood have also prompted speculation that the Guardians will wind up back on Earth in one of the projects.
Now, the latest leaked set photos have given fans even more to chew on. They show some of the Guardians in brand new outfits and tease a slew of new cosmic characters.

Although the Holiday Special won’t air until later this year, fans will get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy sooner in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Their roles are believed to be small, but important.
The last we saw the Guardians, at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Rocket (Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) were joined by Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to search for Gamora (Zoe Saldana). She disappeared following the climactic battle with Thanos and his army.
Because the Holiday Special will take place before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is unknown if Zoe Saldana’s Gamora will make an appearance.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
