EXCLUSIVE: Casting Details Revealed For ‘The Mighty Ducks’ Season 2 Guest Star
Production on the second season of Disney Plus’ The Mighty Ducks sequel series is currently underway. While we exclusively reported casting details for new characters expected to appear in the upcoming season earlier this year, we have just obtained details about another key character who will also appear.
The character will be named Gabe Nordlinger, and he is expected to appear in episode 7 of the second season. Described as a male somewhere in his 30’s and 40’s, with a “sweet, lovable, [and] underdog spirit.” He’ll be the Assistant to the Assistant to the Regional Manager (kidding).
He’ll be the Assistant to the Assistant of Fan Relations for the Anaheim Ducks professional hockey franchise. He’ll primarily interact with Lauren Graham’s character, Alex, and help her teach the kids what it means to be a real Mighty Duck.
It’s unclear who will play the character but, based on the information given to us, it seems as if whoever was cast already filmed their scenes for the show. It also appears that the character will have a one-off appearance, as the breakdown says the actor playing the role will be credited as a “Guest Star”.
Josh Duhamel will replace him, but it is unclear how the new season will address Coach Bombay’s absence.
Aside from Graham, the rest of the principal cast members from season one are slated to return for season two, including Brady Noon (Evan Morrow), Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts. Every episode of season one of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
