Next month Disney will give the world their first Predator movie since acquiring the Fox property. The film titled Prey from 20th Century Studios will debut on Hulu on August 5.

While speaking with SFX Magazine, director Dan Tractenberg revealed that while Prey takes place long before any of the previous Predator movies, this is not an origin story or prequel.

“I want to specifically say this, because I think there’s been some confusion how people have understood: in my mind, this is not a prequel movie, this isn’t, ‘Let’s tell the origin of the Predator.’ This is really something that’s set prior to the original Predator movie, and the Predator creature in this one, this is its first time traveling to Earth.”

We also get a brand new look at the Predator. One is from the back, the others from the front. From the looks of it, this is a Predator we have never seen before.

In the Comanche Nation in 1719, a fierce and highly skilled warrior named Naru learns the prey she is stalking is a highly evolved alien with a technologically advanced arsenal. The film stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope.
