‘Marvel Zombies’ Will Be Rated TV-MA; First Look Images Revealed

After slowly introducing TV-MA and R-rated content to the US service, Disney is now going full force with their first TV-MA original series.

Outside of the US and Latin America, Disney+ has been home to mature content for over a year. But throughout 2022, Disney has slowly been introducing non-family-friendly content to US subscribers starting with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Defenders. Logan and the Deadpool movies were also recently added.

Originally announced on Disney+ Day in 2021, Marvel Zombies has been quietly sitting on Disney’s release schedule with many sceptical about how the series will turn out. Well, fans are already rejoicing across Twitter because it has been officially announced that Marvel Zombies will be rated TV-MA.

The announcements were made during the Marvel Animation panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, alongside several images. Included are character designs for the stars: Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova, Jimmy Woo, Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, Katy, Red Dragon and Death Dealer.

The animated series will be the first TV-MA Disney+ Original and it will debut in 2024, the same year as Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
