Just in time for Halloween, Hulu’s Hellraiser reboot is coming on October 7, 2022, the streamer announced on Wednesday. The Disney-owned streaming service shared a video on social media to celebrate.
The reboot follows a young woman, who faces the sadistic, supernatural forces behind an enigmatic puzzle-box responsible for her brother’s disappearance.
The film stars Odessa A’zion, Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo, Hiam Abbass, and Jamie Clayton, who takes over the horror icon Pinhead role.
Directed by David Bruckner, with a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, from a screen story they co-wrote with David Goyer. The film serves as a reboot of Clive Barker’s 1987 film of the same name and the eleventh installment overall of the Hellraiser franchise, the film will adhere closely to the source material novella by Barker, The Hellbound Heart. The project is a co-production between Spyglass Media Group and Phantom Four Films.
