From high school to high society…
Molly Ringwald, known from her roles in high school films such as The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles, has just joined the cast of FX’s anthology series Feud.
According to Variety, the actress will play Joanne Carson, the second wife of Johnny Carson is the upcoming second season.
Unlike the last season, which revolved around the famous rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during the filming of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, the next season will reportedly follow the true story of how Truman Capote released the secrets of his elite associates in his novel “Answered Prayers.”
Carson and his wife will figure into the story because of how close they remained to Capote up until his death.
Tom Hollander will star as Capote, while Demi Moore will play Ann Woodward, Diane Lane will play Slim Keith, Calista Flockhart will play Lee Radziwill, Naomi Watts will play Babe Paley and Chloë Sevigny will play C. Z. Guest.
All eight episodes of the season will be directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk), with playwright Jon Robin Baitz (The Film Society) serving as show runner. Ryan Murphy will produce alongside Dede Gardner of Plan B Productions and 20th Century Television.
