Christian Bale Wants to Joins a Star Wars Project

October 1, 2022Skyler Shuler

Christian Bale has done it all, he’s played a hero in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, he played the villain in Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, he even voiced a character in Disney’s Pocahontas. Well, the Academy Award winner wants join another major franchise, Star Wars.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Dark Knight star said he could be persuaded to join the Star Wars franchise, but only to continue the work of the famous but unidentified stormtrooper who banged his head on the doorframe in the background of A New Hope.

“All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through. The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it. But look, if I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I did Empire of the Sun, and now, she runs the Star Wars universe.”

Lucasfilm has multiple projects in various stages of development including Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie, Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron movie (despite rumors of a complete cancellation), Ahsoka, Season 3 of The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew, and The Acolyte. There are also whispers of a second season of The Book of Boba Fett in the works. If Christian Bale wants to join the Star Wars universe, Lucasfilm will definitely find a place for him.
