INTERVIEW: ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Costume Designer Salvador Perez Jr.

The witches are back! 29 years after Hocus Pocus premiered in theaters and gave us the iconic Sanderson Sisters, audiences get to return to Salem and re-discover the magic in Hocus Pocus 2.

Costume Designer Salvador Perez Jr. (The Mindy Project, Vacation Friends) takes over for Mary Vogt, who created the costumes for the first film. He knew it was going to be a huge undertaking, but one that he was excited for, as a fan of the original.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to sit down with Salvador and discuss his work on the film, from how the costumes were changed from the first film and why, to how viewers can recreate the looks from the movie with items from their own homes.
