The publisher has released many stories surrounding Halloween Town, with Long Live the Pumpkin Queen by Shea Ernshaw, released just this past August.
Titled, The Nightmare Before Christmas: Battle for Pumpkin King, it will span 5 issues and will revolve around Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie as the two compete for the role of Halloween Town’s Pumpkin King.
“Jack Skellington is the undisputed Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. But it wasn’t always that way… Years ago, Jack and Oogie Boogie were close friends. Eager to prove themselves, they poured all their passion into their spooky projects to earn their rightful place as the scariest duo in town. But there could only be one Pumpkin King! What could have happened to turn two best friends into such bitter rivals?“

Dan Conner, who wrote The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey in 2018, will write the novel which is based on a story by Shaun McLaughlin and D.J. Milky, and Deborah Allo and Roberto Scalia will handle the artwork.
The novel will release in March of 2023.
