Hulu Wins Rights to Mindy Kaling Comedy Series

Mindy Kaling is returning to Hulu six and a half years after her hit show The Mindy Project ended its run on the streamer.

According to Deadline, Kaling and the streamer are developing the single-camera comedy titled Murray Hill. The initiative, produced by Warner Bros. TV with Kaling operating under a comprehensive agreement, was initiated earlier this year. Despite the challenging industry landscape, the project attracted attention from various potential buyers, ultimately securing a deal with Hulu in a competitive environment, backed by a script-to-series commitment.

Written by Kaling, the comedy revolves around five work-obsessed twenty-somethings who strive for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill.

Kaling serves as an executive producer through her company, Kaling International, operating within its overall agreement with WBTV, in collaboration with Howard Klein from 3 Arts Entertainment. Jessica Kumai Scott from Kaling International also contributes as a co-executive producer.
