20th Century Studios Nabs ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ Starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen

In his first big move as the chief of Disney’s movie division, David Greenbaum has secured Deliver Me from Nowhere, which 20th Century Studios will produce and distribute.

According to Deadline, Scott Cooper will direct with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White starring as Bruce Springsteen. A24 originally was set to distribute, however, Greenbaum and Steve Asbell, the head of 20th Century Studios, are enthusiastic Springsteen enthusiasts. They were among the key figures behind the film at a recent concert at the Forum in Los Angeles. Despite strong competition from a rival distributor, Greenbaum took decisive action to secure the movie. It is scheduled to begin filming in the fall and will receive a worldwide theatrical release before navigating through Disney’s extensive distribution team.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will accompany Bruce Springsteen on his journey to create his 1982 album, Nebraska. As reported by Deadline, the forthcoming film about Springsteen’s life will chronicle his efforts in crafting his sixth studio album, Nebraska, released in 1982.

White was put on the map playing Phillip “Lip” Gallagher in the comedy-drama series Shameless (2011–2021) and chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the comedy-drama series The Bear, which has begun filming its newest season for FX. For the series, he received a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards.

As for Cooper, he is known for writing and directing Crazy Heart (2009), Out of the Furnace (2013), Black Mass (2015), Hostiles (2017), and Antlers (2021).
