Are you currently sharing your Disney+ account’s password with a friend or family member(s)?
Then, boy, do we have bad news for you.

That’s right. During a recent interview that Bob Iger had with CNBC, it was formally announced that the crackdown for password sharing is officially coming to Disney+.
Even though it was anticipated for months that such announcement was coming after Netflix had success with this business model and that it is already underway in Disney+ Canada and India, it is now official that it will happen for all users worldwide.
And after the recent launch of the Hulu on Disney+ app, it makes sense that Disney wants to attempt to increase their revenue that way.

But, of course, this news does not come without controversy.
Many current subscribers are understandably upset about this news and already threatening to cancel their accounts once this update takes place in their countries.
It will be interesting to see if this policy will truly help Disney get more subscribers than the ones they are losing.
Now, let’s get into the two most burning questions about this crackdown:
When will the password sharing crackdown begin?
Iger said in the CNBC interview that password sharing crack down would begin in June for “just a few countries in a few markets, but then it will grow significantly with a full rollout in September.”
Does this mean that only I, and I alone, will be able to use my Disney+ account ?
Not exactly.
You will still be able to share your account with friends and family that live in your household through different devices as long as you share the same IP address.
This change, however, will not allow users to share their account or login credentials with anyone outside their own household.
You could even face a penalty of limitation or even termination of the service if this rule is violated.
What do you think?
Do you think this strategy will work for Disney or do you think it will make them lose more suscribers?
Also, will you be keeping your own account after this update takes place or will you cancel it? Let us know in the comments below.
