‘Inside Out 2’ Looking at $100M Debut at The Box Office

Inside Out 2 is right around the corner and all signs point to a hit and getting Pixar back to pre-COVID box office success.

According to Box Office Pro, the highly-anticipated sequel is looking at an $80–$115 million debut in its domestic opening weekend. If the sequel hits $100 million it would be the biggest opening of 2024, Dune: Part Two is the highest so far at $82.5 million. It would also be Pixar’s biggest opening since 2019’s Toy Story 4.

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as Headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment show up.

The voice cast includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown.

The film features a screenplay by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein and story by Mann and LeFauve. With music by Andrea Datzman, the all-new feature film releases only in theaters on June 14, 2024. Tickets are on sale now.
