Not too long after Beau DeMayo took to Twitter to share why he believed Marvel Studios fired him, the studio shared what its side of the story.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel alleged that “Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately, and he has no further affiliation with Marvel.”
Sources close to the site say that an agreement was initially reached by the studio and DeMayo in regards to the way he would frequently promote X-Men ’97 on Twitter. After refusing to stop his promotion, the studio removed his credit for the upcoming second season altogether.
Although no details of the cause of the internal investigation have surfaced, THR’s sources allege that it involved sexual misconduct.
