New Movie Inspired By The Life Of Houdini In The Works At Disney

The Walt Disney Company might be known for delivering magical experiences, but it looks like it’s about to go all in on one of the greatest magicians of all time.

According to Deadline, a new movie based on the life of famed escape artist and illusionist Harry Houdini is in the works at the House of Mouse.

Titled Becoming Houdini, the film will be produced by Scott Sanders (In The Heights, The Color Purple) and Danny Strong (The Hunger Games).

Written by Michael Finch and Alex Litvak (John Wick 4), the film will reportedly be a spy thriller revolving around Houdini’s early years which have always been shrouded in mystery. The outlet reports that rumors of Houdini’s undercover work for the British and American governments will be “the heart” of the film.
