Just days ago it was revealed that Chris Evans would be returning to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday. Now, Deadline reports that his on-screen soulmate Peggy Carter is also returning.
The outlet reports that Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Agent Carter in the film too.
At this time, however, it’s unclear how big of a role Atwell or Evans will have in the film, as well as several other of the film’s major plot details.
The Russo Bros. will direct the film, as well as its planned sequel Avengers: Secret Wars. Both films will be written by Stephen McFeely, the scribe who previously penned all of the prior Russo Bros/Marvel movies from Winter Soldier to Endgame.
Prior to the Jonathan Majors controversy AND last year’s Hollywood strikes, both films were planned to come out next year. Avengers: Doomsday will now arrive in 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in 2027.
“Avengers: Doomsday” is slated for release on May 1, 2026.
