Marvel Studios is about to be set ablaze…
If the Multiverse Saga has taught us anything so far, it’s that any theatrical Marvel character from any point in time can be made relevant again. Deadpool & Wolverine did a wonderful job at reviving Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Jennifer Garner’s Electra and even Channing Tatum’s dead-on-arrival Gambit. But what if we told you that was just the beginning?
According to industry insider Daniel RPK, there is yet another beloved superhero from a live-action Marvel movie that will be making their return and MCU debut in the near future.

In a Patreon post released Tuesday evening, RPK revealed that Nicolas Cage is coming back as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider in an upcoming project. Granted, he could not confirm which project that would be. But he emphasized that there “aren’t many options left.” In saying this, we believe he means that the character will have to appear in one of the remaining films set during the Multiverse Saga. If we had to make a bet, we’d assume that he would appear in one of the upcoming Avengers films.
Now, because this is a rumor, and neither Marvel or any of the major trades have reported this info, we urge you to take it with a grain of salt. Considering RPK’s track record in the past, we are inclined to believe it is true.
While there is no Ghost Rider project officially announced by the studio, a rumor from The Direct in 2020 revealed that Marvel Studios is in fact developing a project that would feature Johnny Blaze and not Robbie Reyes, which almost had its own Hulu series before the streamer pulled the plug on its live-action Marvel Universe.
In recent years, actors such as Ryan Gosling and Norman Reedus have expressed interest in playing the character in the MCU. For a while, it even seemed like the character would be introduced in a Midnight Sons project. Nicolas Cage’s potential involvement seems to be the first real step Marvel Studios is taking to finally revive the character.
