This week’s mailbag is going to be a short one as I have a busy week with a screening of Captain America: Brave New World that I need to get to. So let’s dive with questions about Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, and so much more.
Do you think there will be a sequel or spin-offs to the Snow White remake? Is Disney interested or considering a sequel?
The studio’s current focus is on the successful launch of this adaptation. Future projects, such as sequels or spin-offs, will depend on the film’s reception and box office performance. Sadly, I think this Snow White is going to struggle and we won’t be seeing anything more from this Snow White universe.

As far as I know, Disney tapped multiple writers to try and tackle the script and nothing seemed to work and the project is on hold at this time. I have a sneaky suspicion that this movie will not see the light of day.
Any updates on the live-action Gargoyles show?
Unlike the Stepsister movie from the previous question, Gargoyles is still in the works and scripts have been written. We should see some updates before the end of the year. Disney and James Wan really want to get this done.
Is Jungle Cruise 2 still happening?
This project is up in the air Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are both open to returning; However, their schedules are filling up and there is not script for a sequel at this time. Johnson’s focus with Disney at this moment is the Moana remake and Monster Jam. As for Blunt, her schedule is packed with a new Steven Spielberg film and will then work on The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Is the live-action Robin Hood with the animals still happening?
No, Disney has put this movie on hold. All things I have heard is that this project is not going to happen.
Will a proper Monsters Inc. film sequel ever happen?
I do not believe so. Pixar released a prequel, and now we have Monsters at Work, which essentially is a sequel/spin-off and I am not sure the studio wants to tell the story of monsters with a grown-up Boo.
Is Finding Nemo 3 happening?
A new project from the world of Finding Nemo is in the works, what the project is (sequel, spin-off) I have yet to be able to confirm. One thing is for certain, Pixar is finding a way to bring audiences back to the ocean world of Nemo.
Has filming for the live-action remake of Moana completed?
Yes, the project wrapped principal photography at the end of last year. However, some small-scale reshoots are expected to take place this Summer.
