This year’s Star Wars Celebration has only just begun, but that hasn’t stopped Lucasfilm from already breaking some massive news.
Moments ago, the title of Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling’s upcoming Star Wars film was revealed.
The film will officially be called Star Wars: Starfighter. You can check out the announcement video below!
While plot details are scarce, it appears that the film will be a standalone story totally unconnected to the Skywalker Saga.
The events of Starfighter take place approximately five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The film will open on May 28, 2027. That’s just three weeks after fellow mega-Disney title, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is set to release on May 7, 2027. It will be the second feature Star Wars to hit theaters after next years Mandalorian and Grogu.
