Brenton Thwaites Open to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Return

While fans wait for the next installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, one actor from the last movie is open to a return to the seven seas.

Brenton Thwaites, who played Henry Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, recently spoke with Collider and he let the outlet know that while he has no knowledge of the 6th film, he is definitely open to returning. “Yeah, I hope I’m in it. I don’t think I will be, but I’ll work as a grip. I’ll be behind the camera, holding a boom if I could.”

As of now, Pirates 6 is still in very early development so there is no concrete info on the project at this point; However, franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer has remained adamant that his plans are to get Johnny Depp back into the franchise but as of now, no official negotiations or deals have been made and at this point, they do not even have a director attached. This project is so far away from any sort of production, according to Bruckheimer.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which consists of five movies, has grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide. It is the 17th-highest-grossing film series of all time, and is the first film franchise to produce two or more films that grossed over $1 billion.
