The Devil Wears Prada 2 made a stunning entrance at the global box office this weekend, pulling in an impressive $77 million domestically and soaring to $233 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

The long-awaited sequel to the beloved 2006 hit proved that nearly two decades later, the world of high fashion and its sharp-tongued personalities still holds irresistible appeal to audiences around the world.

Rounding out the top 5 at the box office is Michael ($54 million), the Michael Jackson biopic continued strong performance in its second weekend. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie ($12.1 million), which is still seeing an influx of families taking their young ones. Project Hail Mary ($8.6 million) and Hokum ($6.4 million) close out the top 5.

Directed by David Frankel, the films stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles from the first film, with Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, BJ Novak and Kenneth Branagh joining as new additions.

The follows a seasoned Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Hathaway) returning to work with a declining Miranda Priestly (Streep) at Runway, which now faces a corporate crisis and hostile takeover bids. Emily Blunt returns as a high-powered Dior executive plotting to acquire the magazine, creating a power struggle between legacy fashion and modern, digital-first business models.
