When I first heard that “The Dog Stars” was being released this summer back at the last Disney Share Holder’s meeting I was instantly hyped! Director- Ridley Scott. Cast- Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong. Yes please! And then the trailer released and I knew this was a film I need to see on the big screen.
The world premiere of “The Dog Stars” took place the evening of August 20th at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square Cinemas. In attendance were Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, director/producer Ridley Scott, producers Michael Pruss, Cliff Roberts, author/executive producer Peter Heller, executive producers Lily Brooks-Dalton, Brandon Scott Smith, and Aidan Elliott, costume designer Janty Yates, and visual effects supervisor Charley Henley. This film has been labeled as a riveting, cinematic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice, “The Dog Stars” opens exclusively in theaters, IMAX, and premium larger formats August 28.
Based on Peter Heller’s captivating bestseller of the same name, the film tells the story of Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley (Josh Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world. But when Hig receives a mysterious radio transmission, he ventures into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exist.
