Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ To Be Shot Entirely in IMAX

This year, Disney’s CinemaCon panel was filled with plenty of surprises for attendees. One of those surprises came in the form of Kevin Feige appearing on stage to discuss Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate.

At the very beginning of his presentation, Feige spoke briefly about the studio’s highly anticipated adaptation of Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four. While no new footage was shown, he did confirm that the film will begin shooting in the coming months.

He also added that the entire film will be shot in IMAX.

Considering that James Gunn’s Superman comes out two weeks before this, there is a chance that both films could fight for IMAX screens. We’ll just have to see what happens.

Pedro Pascal is playing Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Napoleon) is playing Sue Storm/Invisible Girl, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) is playing Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) is playing Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Fantastic Four has been written by Avatar scribe Josh Friedman, but Black Widow and Thor: Ragnorak scribe Erik Pearson is expected to polish the script. Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is set to direct. Moon Knight producers Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin are also on board.

Fantastic Four will now hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
