Kevin Feige & Amy Pascal Confirm That Venom & Black Cat Are Not A Part Of MCU!

I guess Amy Pascal really did misspeak.  Feige and Pascal are back in interview and they clarify what was said in a previous interview; that the Sony Spider-Man spin-offs are a part of the MCU.

While talking to Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis, Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige clarified that Venom and other spin-offs are not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

FYI: Just spoke w/ Amy Pascal & Kevin Feige who clarified that Venom, Black Cat, etc are in the Marvel comics universe but not the MCU

Pascal said she was itching to clarify that after the story this week. Those other movies will not take place in the MCU

Although it’s been now clarified that Venom and Black Cat are not in the MCU, this doesn’t mean Spider-Man can’t cameo in those films. Yeah I know Spidey is in the MCU, but I think Sony is willing to go pass that and have him in one of the spin-offs.

It’s not really that surprising that the spin-offs aren’t in the MCU, as that would mean for another deal between Sony and Marvel Studios. It’s possible in the future that the two companies could conjure up a deal but I think that would depend on the success of those films.
