Tim Burton’s live action adaptation of Disney’s 1941 animated classic has been in production for a little over a week now and the film is continuing to add talent as actor DeObia Oparei has joined the cast.
Details on Oparei’s character is being kep under wraps at this time but it is assumed he will playing one of the circus performers. Oparei is joining a star studded cast that includes Eva Green, Danny DeVito, and Michael Keaton who is attached to play the movie’s villain. Colin Farrell will star as Holt, the widowed father of two kids from Kentucky. Roshan Seth, Sharon Rooney, and Douglas Reith have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
It was recently announced at D23 that Burton’s Dumbo will be released on March 29, 2019.
The animated classic Dumbo revolved around a Ridiculed young circus elephant with big ears who is assisted by a mouse to achieve his full potential.
Oparei is best known for his role as Areo Hotah, captain of the Dornish guard, in Seasons 5 and 6 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. DeObia also starred in Independence Day: Resurgence and has appeared in Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet and NBC’s Emerald City. His other credits include Dredd, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Your Highness, Doom, Moulin Rouge and Alien 3.
