They have been doing this for a long time now, and it seems like they won’t be anytime stopping soon. Kevin Feige says the company knows what the next 20 movies post-Avengers 4 will be. Of course it may change somewhat until then, but it’s proof that Marvel very confident that they’ll be able to continue the success they’ve had for years to come.

“22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally.”

He didn’t give any further details on what exactly those 20 film could be, but it’s safe to assume that most will be composed of new stories and characters. He did however, promise that Avengers 4 be a finale of sorts.

He specifically says that it will “bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale”. This could mean many things for our favorite heroes from the franchise, from the deaths of some main characters to an happy and hopeful ending for most. Whatever happens though, will be the end of the current MCU period.

“There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting.”

Feige also points out that he is pretty certain about the MCU’s longevity. He made this point by bringing up one of Walt Disney’s best quotes.

“On opening day, when people asked Mr. Walt Disney if Disneyland was finished, he said, as long as there’s imagination in the world, Disney will never be complete.”

Avengers 4 will hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
