Disney+ Scarlet Witch And Vision Series Gets Official Title

A few weeks back it was reported that two Marvel series centered on the favorite villain Loki and Scarlet Witch were in development for Disney+. With both Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their roles. Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm, received additional details on the Scarlet Witch series. the outlet added Paul Bettany’s Vision would have a large part in the series. Now Slashfilm’s report has been confirmed.

According to Deadline, Paul Bettany is indeed expected to reprise his role as the member of the Avengers on the series, which is reportedly set to have six to eight episodes. The new report also suggests that the upcoming series will be actually titled Vision and the Scarlet Witch.

The alleged official title must sound familiar for the comic book fans as it’s an allusion to two important arcs. Back in 1982, Bill Mantlo penned a four-issue miniseries called Vision and the Scarlet Witch, spinning a plot out of their recent marriage. The author described the couple as “the strangest wedded couple in the world” as he pitted them against All Hallows Eve as well as Nuklo. The story concluded with Wanda Maximoff learning the truth about her origin, that she’s actually the daughter of Magneto, the Master of Magnetism.

In addition, Marvel released a second limited series entitled Vision and the Scarlet Witch three years later. The series followed the couple leaving the Avengers after Vision’s mind had been corrupted by his creator, Ultron.

As for the new series, other details, including the plot, are still kept under wraps.

In October, it was revealed that Falcon and Winter Soldier were set to team up on a new project with Malcolm Spellman (Empire) onboard as the writer. Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie were reported to suit up again as the superheroes.
