Nick Nolte Joins Disney+ Star Wars Series ‘The Mandalorian’

Veteran Nick Nolte is stepping into the Star Wars universe, as he is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Details on Nolte’s role are being kept under wraps. Nolte joins a cast that includes, Pedro Pascal (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and Gina Carano (Deadpool).

The series, developed by filmmaker Jon Favreau, is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Dave Filoni, who has worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, will direct the first episode of the series. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones) will direct additional episodes.

Favreau is also executive producing the show, along with Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Warsuniverse. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The Mandalorian will exclusively premiere sometime in 2019 on Disney+.
