Marvel Studios has a slew of projects that each one looks to be different from the last. Thanks to the success of Marvel’s projects in 2018, future releases will improve and introduce new elements to the MCU.
Captain Marvel
Release Date – March 8, 2019
Directors – Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck
Cast – Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Lashana Lynch, Jude Law, and Annette Bening
With less than two weeks till release, Marvel’s Captain Marvel will be the MCU’s first female-led film. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel crosses paths with Nick Fury to uncover her past and stop a galactic war from coming to Earth. Captain Marvel has been screened recently with first reactions to the film saying Goose is a standout and the film provides a 90’s buddy cop feels.
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Season 2
Release Date – April 4, 2019
Showrunners – Joe Pokaski
Cast – Oliva Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Emma Lahana, Gloria Reuben and Andrea Roth
Picking up from season 1, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger find Tyrone and Tandy acting as vigilantes in NOLA. By the looks of the recently released trailer, they will deal with keeping their city safe and Detective Brigid O’Reilly development into Mayhem.
Avengers: Endgame
Release Date – April 26, 2019
Directors – Joe and Anthony Russo
Cast – Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo
Prepare the tissues. Avengers: Endgame finds the Avengers and surviving allies trying to undo Thano’s snap. The sequel to Marvel’s biggest film could likely see some characters final appearance but details are being kept under wrap.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6
Release Date – May 2019
Showrunners – Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon
Cast – Clark Gregg, Ming Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Ian De Casetecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Henry Simmons.
Season five ended with Mack becoming director, the team searching for Fitz, and Coulson dying. Now by the looks of the trailer for season six the team is still looking for Fitz and Clark Gregg will be playing a new sinster character.
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Release Date – July 5, 2019
Director – Jon Watts
Cast – Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and Marisa Tomei
It seems Disney to making live-action Spider-Man films is going to pay off as the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home was fantastic. From what details can be gathered, Peter will team up with Nick Fury to take down the elementals around Europe and encounter Mysterio.
Jessica Jones Season 3
Release Date – 2019
Showrunner – Melissa Rosenberg
Cast – Krysten Ritter, Rachel Taylor, Eka Darville, and Carrie Ann Moss
Well, I guess Marvel Netflix era is done. All of the Marvel tv shows on Netflix have been canceled and Jessica Jones season 3 will be the last to air. Hopefully, it ends without a cliffhanger like Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Black Widow
Release Date – 2020
Director – Cate Shortland
Cast – Scarlett Johansson
Any MCU film beyond Spider-Man: Far From Home are being tightly kept under wraps. But reports have indicated that Black Widow will be released in May 2020. It’s not known if the film will follow-up Avengers Endgame or take place before it.
The Eternals
Release Date – 2020
Director – Chloe Zano
All that’s known so far is Chloe Zano has been attached to direct the film and is rumored to be released in November 2020.
