‘Stranger Things’ Star David Harbour Joins Marvel Studios ‘Black Widow’ Movie

The Black Widow standalone film is finally happening, but Scarlett Johansson won’t, of course, be totally alone. Casting is underway, and a new face is reportedly poised to join the MCU.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Stranger Things star David Harbour is joining the standalone film from Marvel Studios. As of right now details on who Harbour is playing being kept under wraps.

Fighting With My Family star Florence Pugh, recently signed on in an unknown role,  but thanks to our friends at That Hashtag Show,  the role is described as a “kick-ass” female character described as a “female Bond”. So it sounds like Florence may team up with Johansson, or I could possibly a foe to her.

Cate Shortland is attached to direct with Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer penning the script. Production is expected to start at Pinewood Studios UK in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England. The film will be under the working title Blue Bayou during production.

Production on the project is now expected to begin this June under the working title “Blue Bayou.” Scarlett Johansson will next be seen in Avengers: Endgame.

The film is expected to release May 1, 2020, but that is subject to change.
