With production expected to kick off this June, Marvel Studios’ Black Widow film has found its main villain.
According to Deadline, The Handmaid’s Tale actor O-T Fagbenle nabbed the role opposite long-time Marvel Cinematic Universe star Scarlett Johansson. Details surrounding the role are being kept under wraps at this time but a lot of fans are guessing he will play cult favorite Marvel villain Taskmaster.
The actor joins other recent additions to the film David Harbour and Rachel Weisz and Fighting With My Family star Florence Pugh, who all joined the project in unknown roles. We expect to learn more once Avengers: Endgame makes its rounds in theaters
Cate Shortland is attached to direct with Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer penning the script. Production is expected to start at Pinewood Studios UK in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England. The film will be under the working title Blue Bayou during production.
The film is expected to release May 1, 2020, but that is subject to change.
