Which Three Avengers Should Kill Thanos in Endgame?

Can you believe we’re only days – yes, days – away from the biggest cultural event that is Avengers: Endgame?! While we (im)patiently wait for the weekend to arrive, I thought it would be a cool idea to put the theories to the side for a second and instead discuss who, if anyone, should kill the Mad Titan himself, Thanos.

#3. Captain America

Going into Endgame, we know there’s a high possibility that not everyone will make it out alive – especially our main six Avengers. There’s been a ton of speculation that Tony will bite the dust (no pun intended), but the number one spot in the Endgame “deadpool” has gone to Cap himself. For one, Chris Evans has said that this will be his last MCU film, but also Steve has always been the guy to make the sacrifice play. We’ve already seen him briefly hold back Thanos in Infinity War, and dying a soldier’s death would be a proper (yet soul crushing) sendoff for the Star-Spangled Man With a Plan. Seeing as no one wants to see Cap die though, he lands at number three.

#2. Nebula

Yes, Nebula is not an Avenger, but since she is siding with them, I’m including her as one. First introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy, she served as an antagonist to the team, especially her sister, Gamora. Her character has since then progressed greatly after it was revealed in the sequel that her hatred and rage stemmed from years of literal torture at the hands of Thanos. Because of that, it would be fitting if Thanos met his end at the hands of his own flesh and blood. There’s even a theory that she may wield the Infinity Gauntlet. With Guardians 3 on the way though, it would be a major bummer not to see Nebula’s relationship with Gamora evolve and have them kick butt together.

#1. Thor

Of all the Avengers, Thor has lost the most: His mother, father, friends (still bitter that they did the Warrior Three and Sif like that, BTW), and just when we thought he couldn’t lose anymore, Thanos arrives. Along with the Black Order, they eliminated the whole of Asgard, Heimdall, and Loki (#LokiStillLives, right?) leaving Thor to drift in space after destroying the Asgardian ship. After possessing the newly powerful Stormbreaker, Thor nearly took Thanos out… except he didn’t go for the head. *womp womp* Jokes aside, Thor finishing the job in Endgame would put a smile on our faces. Like he said, bring him Thanossss!

Avengers: Endgame opens nationwide on April 26th. Did everyone have luck securing their opening weekend tickets?
