Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld may be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in a big role, that could lead to the young star appearing in future Avengers films.
According to Variety, Steinfeld is in early talks to join Jeremy Renner in the Hawkeye series, coming to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+.
If Hailee Steinfeld officially signs on she would play Kate Bishop. For those not familiar with character, Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Clint Barton (Renner). She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.
Just last week, it was reported that Mad Men writer Jonathan Igla would write and executive produce the series.
Hawkeye is a part of Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 slate, which also includes Black Widow, The Eternals, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Disney+ Series), Shang-Chi, WandaVision (Disney+ Series), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Loki (Disney+ series),and Thor: Love and Thunder.
The series will drop on Disney+ sometime in the Fall of 2021.
