Adam Driver In Talks To Star In ‘The Last Duel’ Opposite Matt Damon

Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) is in talks to take over the role originally set for Ben Affleck in the Disney/Fox film The Last Duel, according to Variety. Driver will star opposite Matt Damon and Jodie Comer.

The film is set in 14th Century France and tells the story of a man (Damon) who goes off to war, and when he returns he learns that his friend (Driver) had done bad things to his wife (Comer). No one will believe the woman, and the soldier appeals to the king of France and says he wants to fight a duel to the death to decide the man’s fate, becoming the last legally sanctioned duel in France.

The trade also states, Affleck will assume a supporting role instead due to scheduling conflicts with New Regency’s Deep Water, which he had already signed on to.
