After multiple delays, and uncertainty 20th Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment have finally released a creepy new trailer for their upcoming film The New Mutants.
The New Mutants is an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
Back in August, reports surfaced that Disney is intentionally removing any and all references to the Fox’s X-films. It’s also being said that the idea of being a “mutant” will be, basically, a brand new concept in the movie, one that no human has really ever heard of before. This is all being done for if/when Fiege and crew decide to bring their versions of X-Men into the MCU.

This could mean that The New Mutants could be the first film from Fox to be shifted into the MCU, and then the studio could bring in their own X-Men characters from there. The trailer feels very isolated, which is a perfect opportunity to merge mutants into the MCU.
Directed by Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars), the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin / Magik, Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie / Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa / Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar / Mirage, and Alice Braga as Cecilia Reyes. The film is produced by Simon Kinberg, p.g.a., Karen Rosenfelt, p.g.a. and Lauren Shuler Donner with Stan Lee and Michele Imperato Stabile serving as executive producers.
New Mutants is set to hit theaters on April 3rd, 2020
