Elle Fanning Gets Another Series To Lead At Hulu

Fresh off the first season of Hulu’s critically acclaimed (and Emmy nominated) The Great, Elle Fanning has been cast as the lead in another series the streaming platform plans to produce. Fanning will reportedly star as Michelle Carter, the young woman indicted in real life for the death of her boyfriend after she encouraged him to commit suicide via text message. The highly publicized case was considered controversial because of the debate it sparked about mental health and technology. Earlier this year, the story captured the nation’s attention again when Carter was released early from jail for good behavior.
